So, with that in mind, Cid's decided to take a risk. Who better to invite than the man who'd tried to kill him when they first met? (Though, to be fair, he mostly hasn't tried again.)
Even despite his penchant for gambling on his companions' good intentions, Cid isn't a fool. He's vetted Eliot as best he can. Between the reputation he only half-remembers and the one that lingers here in Panorama, he's got a fairly clear picture of what he's in for. The man doesn't kill these days, but you'd never have guessed with the stories going around. A couple of the men Cid's had a chat with nearly soiled themselves when his name came up. Meanwhile, old Mrs. Lo at the Flamingo Inn has been robbing him blind during their mahjong games in exchange for her old family recipes. When Cid had last run into him in the Sanctum, he'd been dressed as someone else entirely. They've had drinks. Cid has explained the situation: namely, that the stability of the entire city depends on the life of one person. They'd had some more drinks, after that.
He's a professional, is the point, and a decent sort. He can handle himself. If things get too ugly, Cid is expecting him to leave, reach out to a few contacts, and make sure that the job actually gets done. (He's not expecting it to come to that, of course, but it's useful to have in his back pocket all the same.)
Otherwise, the plan is simple. Cid has already knocked out the nearest 'cell tower' with a few well-placed bolts of lightning, and now he and Eliot are going to drive by the power plant and clean up the mess. He's been careful to cover his tracks, to pace it out so that it isn't easy to put it all together. Strange weather is just a thing that happens. Most people don't know that he's got any abilities at all.
The massive silos that mark the power plants are coming into view on the horizon now, and even the AM Radio on Cid's old truck is fizzling out. He reaches over to flick it off. ]
You're not going to tie your hair up? Seems like it'd get in the way, is all.
[ Very important pre-mission observations here. ]

Or at least he was, until that dumb comment about his hair.
(Why is it always his hair?) ]
You know, I think getting stabbed would have been good for you.
[ Any guilt Eliot was feeling over their little make believe game has fully died. Hell, his new scars still pull a little so really the guilt should have died sooner but Eliot is nothing if not stubborn. Now, he's eyeing Cid in the driver seat and wondering if he could get away with a light stabbing or two.
You'd think by now he'd be an old hand at pulling jobs with the most irritating people known to man, but he must be out of practice, being away from Hardison for so long. Still, seeing as how all the chaos of last month was because one guy went down, Eliot's willing to put up with a whole lot more than one chatty demi-god lot to get to the bottom of this. ]
Though at least this means you'll make a decent distraction.
