[ The moped is in terrible shape. During the shockwave, it had fallen nose-first into the pavement, smashing the headset into unusability; the rest of it is dinged and dented, too, evidence of it being hit a couple of times during the chaos. Verso is a musician first, survivalist second, and a moped mechanic never. He barely understands traffic laws still, much less the inner workings of this thing.
So, he reaches out to an engineer that's been referred to him, blissfully unaware of who the man actually is. When Cassian arrives at the address he sends—in front of the Blocks, although Verso has since moved to the abandoned apartments in the Sanctum—there's a protracted moment of confusion, before he realizes...
Oh. Sure. Of course the guy he messaged is also the guy who ran him over. Not the only person who's run him over, mind you. Not even the only person who ran him over to get invited to Sciel's birthday party.
Verso clears his throat and awkwardly, politely explains the issue with the moped. It's not like he can go back on it now that the guy's already here. Besides, if anything, he's pretty sure he's owed a favor after the whole 'killing him' thing. Cassian's friend arrives after what is a deeply uncomfortable few minutes, and they load the broken moped into the truck bed (with some difficulty) to get it to their workshop.
Then comes the drive over. They all squeeze into the front of the truck; Cassian's friend, Cassian, and Verso between them twiddling his thumbs. Their shoulders are all touching. It's kind of weird. ]
[ While Cid wouldn't normally be opposed to getting up close and personal, this isn't exactly what he had in mind when he'd first seen Cassian's number pop up on his phone. It seems as if every time they try to follow up, some other obligation or event gets in the way. Apparently, neither of them can resist a pair of big sad eyes and empty promises.
Still, he doesn't mind it, exactly. Verso is friendly enough, and Cid's been meaning to get Cassian to come by the workshop-to-be, so this is as good of an excuse as any.
Cid casually speeds up as the upcoming light switches from yellow to red, driving straight on through the intersection. He only really bothers to slow down if there's someone trying to cross. ]
I have, aye. [ Every time he talks, Verso sounds exactly like Clive, and Cid has yet to decide if he's grateful that that the similarities seem to end there. He'd definitely given Verso an odd look when he'd first opened his mouth, but he's trying to be very normal about it otherwise. At least two other worlds have 'Cids' who are all engineers too, so it's not that odd to hear a voice again, is it?
Cid lifts a hand from the steering wheel to make a vague gesture. ] We don't have cars where I'm from, but an engine's an engine — shit. [ That hand goes directly to Verso's chest as Cid swerves to avoid some idiot driving directly towards them. It's unremarkable enough in Panorama that he doesn't even say anything about groping his new friend whilst trying to keep him from flying out the front window.
He puts his hand back on the steering wheel with a grumble of annoyance, fully expecting Cassian to just carry on the conversation. ]

So, uh.
[ He glances between the two men. ]
You two been at it long? Engineering, that is.
