A. Bring Me A Shrubbery

[ City might've calmed the hell down, but the centre's still got work that needs doing: the door and windows that got smashed up, patio that could use a good scrubbing. It's mindless busy work, sure, but Logan hates sitting on his ass. Gives him too much time to think.

And he wants this place to look nice. Wants it how Storm might've wanted it. That means plenty of green and plenty of flowers. Luck would have it, the climate around here seems decent for growing: not too hot and dry, not too cold. Good amount of rain. He's no green thumb, but he's spent his share of time in the wilds. Figures a few hearty bushes and some sturdy flowers will get him by.

The problem is finding any of that. He lucks out with a couple of ferns and seeds, but mid-month, he'll take off to Acreage for something proper.

Depending on when you swing around the area, you'll catch him:

• Sawing and sanding down makeshift planter boxes, some of which has been pieced together from pallets and crates he's scavenged.
• Perching on the railing at the crack of dawn with a coffee, looking thoughtful. (Brooding, even.) If you know him and catch his eye, he might even lift a hand in greeting. Provided he likes you, that is.
• An ill-timed moment when a scruffy stray cat decides to launch itself at him, claws out, while he's juggling a beer. You swear it seems to have scratched him up good, but funny thing—there are no marks on him by the time you reach the steps.
• Later, feeding the same cat a can of tuna, which you might glimpse him opening with a suspiciously long blade that disappears into his hand.

Feel like joining him? He's probably open to company, and if you've got questions about exactly what this building's even for, well. He's not the recruiting type, but he'll answer if you've got a good reason for being nosy.

B. Couch Surfing

[ Over the past couple of weeks, he's added his growing collection of books to the shelf: classics, mostly, interspersed with whatever looks interesting or that people might've given him. Some titles that don't exist on any Earth he knows. One of the windows remains boarded up. The door's been put back after it got busted down. Mess from the blackout's been tidied.

You might've walked by this place before, saw it posted about on the Forum, or stopped in at the mingle hosted by one Charles Xavier a couple months back. Logan wouldn't have been a prominent face at that little party—not his style—but you could've seen him come and go.

During the day, the doors are unlocked as long as somebody's around. There's a chance that somebody's Logan. Maybe not the welcoming face you're searching for, but you get what you get. Most of the time, he's keeping busy. Other times, you'll seemingly interrupt him taking a moment to himself—reading, making a sandwich, or digging out a beer from the cupboard. He'll size you up as soon as you come through the door—and there's a sense he's not surprised by your entrance, even if you think you're being quiet as a mouse.

During the night, doors are usually locked, though there's a chance he might've nodded off without bothering. Sometimes he's sleeping heavy with more than a few empty bottles around the couch; other times, he's just dozing with one eye open. On occasion, the lights might even be on into the twilight hours, a sign that he's given up on sleep.

If you disturb him in the night, you damn well better have an excuse up your sleeve. The running from a bunch of muggers and I need a place to hide type of excuse. Close friends might get a pass, though. Maybe.
