samus - cont. from the TDM
[ He hopes that she isn't from one of those worlds where magic is frowned upon, but she doesn't seem hostile — just curious. It's fair enough to be weary, even so far as to keep her name to herself. ]
Where I'm from, one may manipulate the weave of ambient magical energies given the training or innate ability, or if they're granted power by other entities. I'm the latter — a warlock. So... In a manner of speaking, I asked nicely. [ He rubs the back of his neck, shrugs. It's really a terrible answer but he isn't a wizard. He understands magic in an innate way that makes it difficult to explain. ] It won't harm you, if that's your concern. Does that mean your world has a lot of... technology, is it?

What you've done I've seen performed through the use of cybernetic implants, and light technology.
Which seems more... limited here.

[ He's ready to quit this job on the spot and grill her with about thirty thousand questions. Run while you can, Samus. ]

Despite that she inwardly struggles how much to indulge Adrian on this. He's just botched his awful part time shift and watched a guy puke and broke his nose (though that seems fine now), so he should probably not make any of his money-making endeavors worse and she should go about her way. ]
...
[ It's unclear if it's pity or the way he looks at her wide-eyed, or the foolish dim hope that maybe he might be smart enough to eventually figure out why most of her suit doesn't work by showing him what does, but...
Samus tilts her head back and sighs. She looks around and motions with a broad sweep of her arm for him to follow her down the dark alleyway next to the store.
Down there she brings a single finger to her lips, a universal 'keep this quiet' gesture. She then holds out her right arm and light starts to shimmer and shine around it, slowly manifesting into the outline of something. The arm cannon suddenly flashes into shape around her arm. It smells faintly of ozone, and the inner lights glow with a warm alien light. ]

He nods at her gesture, eyes still bright with curiosity and watches her arm transform or — be encased? Though he noticed none of the requisite components, it looks indistinguishable from magic, and yet unlike anything he's ever seen before. He doesn't want to be so rude as to grab it, but he leans down to get a better look at it, putting his whole face right in front of the dark opening at the front of it. ]
What does it do? Is it truly solid? May I? [ He raises a hand to it, but he waits for permission. ] This 'technology' is well beyond anything I've seen before, but if it is biological as well, I might be able to glean some understanding of it through study. Er, if you would permit that.

It is a plasma-based weapon, and biometrically unique to me. [ Unfortunately for Adrian, he can not wear it.
She does bring it towards him more length-wise, as if brandishing her forearm. She clasps her palm over it, showing it's as solid as can be. If he wants to touch here she will permit it. It's solid metal, cool to the touch but emanating faint heat as if its own body heat. Question is if she'll puke from it—despite what she just said about it being biometrically tied to her, her arm is technically suspended in the middle of it. She was susceptible to the x-parasite infection despite her suit being otherwise impervious to any other hazards space throws at it her.
so whatever the plot requiresLoathe to divulge any potential weaknesses to someone she's just met, she understands she needs to give a little if she hopes to gain anything from Adrian's curiosity. ]
...Usually I can summon the rest of it but, I haven't been able to since arriving here.

[ It's bio-mechanical, as she said, so the projectile must come from somewhere, right? He's been using his free time to read whatever medical textbooks he can thrift, and he remembers this much.
Adrian starts to remove his glove, then stops himself. It might be helpful to know the texture and how alive the whole thing feels, but he doesn't want to risk causing her some horrible illness for the sake of curiosity. He touches it with his glove on, feeling the warmth only where his touch lingers too long. It certainly feels more alive than any weapon he's ever held, the shape of it entirely alien. ]
The rest of it? Is the nature of this world likely to hinder it, do you know?
