[ Music was a commodity they didn't get to indulge in often. On the occasional, peaceful night, Brady would play a song or two ( or three, or four ) on his old violin, just barely kept in tune with all the string he had the foresight to carry with him. He had a repertoire. She remembers most of the songs, with as much clarity as hearing Inigo trying to convince him to start a troupe, maybe, to pick up girls and—

They'd have liked this. The full suite of instruments and the singing, but the idea that all they needed to do was pick up a CD and press a button and there would be music for as long as they'd like. ( If only she could show them. )

Her hands make an aborted half-movement back up to her ears, as if to go back to listening, except her attention snags the plastic container flipping, and she leans over to read the tracklist properly — it fortunately doesn't take a genius to know which one she just listened to — but the rest of the time is spent marveling at how such a small thing could hold so many songs. Wild.

Not to mention: ]
A movie... [ There's a beat as she tries to figure out which question she wants to ask, but she quickly settles on: ] What was it about? [ Something happy, she hopes. The songs she listened to were all very nice. ]
