[ Open air markets being the biggest she's seen sounds downright ancient. Starting to think that might not to too far off where she's concerned. There was probably a point, before Weapon X, where he could tell her he remembered when the first mall opened, the old Southdale Centre just south of the border. The first time he set foot in one. How that must've felt.

He doesn't remember anymore.

Though he does kinda miss being in one. Malls got shut down in favour of checkpoints and detention centres and dozens of facilities building Sentinels. This one's old school, full of wired headphones and tie-dye. Makes him feel like he's been sent back in time in a different way.

He stops next to her. ]
What, the CDs? They're, uh—here.

[ Easier to show her. He steps inside the store, glancing around at the brightly printed signs labelling each section. A few of the cardboard displays have been knocked askew, one of the shelves wiped clean except for the bulbous and swollen items too ruined to touch. He plucks a CD at random—The Lion King—and cracks open a locked case for an old Sony Discman. A few seconds of fiddling later, he's got the batteries inserted. The CD goes inside. Lid clicks shut.

He hands her the headphones. ]
Put these on. Press that.

[ He taps the play button. He's got a feeling she might like it, and something about that has him invested in watching her reaction. ]
