[ Amos gotten a better handle on driving, the jeep less of such a foreign thing to him. But, this still being a newer concept — driving, as opposed to just being a passenger on a ship in space — he's not the steadiest when a tremor hits, and he's pulled off a little ways into the field. Not much, but it's gonna be a pain dragging it out in a minute.
A minute, because not far from him, when he cuts the engine, he hears someone speaking, and he can't make out much, but they sound a little panicked. Ordinarily, this in itself wouldn't be enough to pull Amos forward. Whatever's going on, it's probably not his business. But the jeep's gonna take a minute to get out of this field, and maybe they help each other out, or something.
He grabs his own jacket from the back, puts it on, zips it up, heads out the short distance from the field to the road. He's not sure what he expected, but — a van in the road, some kind of plastic body, and a kid hunched near it, well...not that. Amos stays right where he is, but calls out — ]
