That happens to hit a nerve. "I'm not Lucifer!" It's bad enough that Castiel is openly afraid of him, something that horrifies him to his core, but to bring up Lucifer is a personal attack. Jack spends so much of his time trying to be nothing like his biological father. If his brain was working more than his feelings at the moment, he would get that Castiel means he has Lucifer's power which is intense, but he's not thinking clearly with Castiel's rejection.

"Subject yourself to me? Indulge me?" It hurts, everything hurts so much. Jack's never been good at handling hurt like this, it overwhelms him. He thought they were starting to bond; they would never be father and son, but they could be their own thing. But Castiel's indulging him, not caring about him. Sometimes he gets mad when he's hurt, but now he tears up instead.

"I thought you were starting to like me." It was what he was holding onto, that he could eventually get Castiel's affection, maybe love some day.
