Jack looks like Castiel knocked the wind out of him, like he punched him in the stomach, and that's how it feels. Castiel allowing him in his space has been helpful, and it hurts sometimes, and it's upsetting, but he still is glad to have been allowed to stay close to him at times. He won't leave him alone on purpose, always as a mask for protecting him, but it's truly been for him.

"You were just looking for an excuse to get rid of me," Jack snaps back, heavy emotions roiling over him. He's already been upset by this whole ordeal and Castiel putting distance between them only hurts him more. "You're only saying this because you're afraid of me!" Castiel's never been afraid of him.
