( it was jack who told her samuel was with them, though she hadn't known which room he'd been in to find him. nor, somehow, did she even have a mirror for the simplest of her locator spells. though she'd been in the store to start searching for what they did have, she'd found it a disappointing mess, and lacking in most of what she'd like. but that was one store and tomorrow she'd try another.
jack's out (working at the job he so proudly found) when he knocks at the door, and hearing his voice brings a little relief. she'd already killed a banshee with a stranger; she didn't want to find anything else.
she's smiles when she opens the door, pretending for a brief moment that all of this is normal, that he's come to ask for a spell, some help, or just for tea. it doesn't help, but it's nice just to have a friend and not think about the shittiness of the situation. or the strangeness of it, given she doesn't yet have an answer about her resurrection )
Samuel. Should we start with tea or whiskey?
( neither are very good. she'd charmed the bottle of whiskey out the bar, though it was poor quality, and stolen the tea from the store magically. she needed something, and she didn't plan on any more debt )
