( a big city like this isn't without it's fair share of creeps and weirdos. wanda is fully aware of thatβhas been familiar with this kind of awareness most of her life. working the register at one of the many stores in panorama puts her at the forefront of many of these individuals' attentions, but she has the benefit of being able to implant an intrusive thought on them about fleeing should it ever become too much for her to handle.
but then there's that guy, the one she helped out from a certain wet death. she wonders if he thinks she hasn't noticed him? they've had far too much eye contact at this rate to play stupid.
at one point, he's the only one in, browsing the aisles. )
