"I wonder..." Strange muses. "This whole situation feels like a child playing with dolls. The dolls do not know they are not human. They only act in the way that the child directs them to. Perhaps there is someone above all this, someone pulling the metaphorical strings, commanding these things to act like humans."

It makes sense. But there's also one big problem with that theory, which Strange admits,

"Though I do not know why Thomas is the only doll still being played with."
