The timeline thing is a bit confusing, as she's imagining it — bringing in a grown teenager and then bringing in his father from a point twenty years prior just seems cruel. There's a lot of this that she can't personally speak to, but she does feel some sympathy for Jack. It's made evident in her voice, her voice low and her intonation gentle. ]

You know, my dad didn't know I existed until I was around ten. It probably took him a bit to get used to the idea too. But my mom always told me that none of that was my fault and if he ended up not wanting to meet me, it was his loss. It helped, knowing she was on my side.
