The mansion has a pool and it is one of the luxuries that Charles would have missed with time, given that he likes swimming for the same sensation he's having now. So having a temporary return to something familiar is appreciated. He doesn't mind having company and one mind is easy to block out. He doesn't watch Strange as that would defy the purpose of it being casual and proper, although he does give an early glance when they speak to note his dated attire.
"I understand, to an extent. As you said, holding onto familiarity can be soothing when surrounded by so much change." It might make someone a bit of a stick in the mud, but Strange is in good company there, given Charles is one of those. "I don't think it's silly. Everyone's comfort level is their own." There are plenty of people who don't want to swim at all for their own reasons.
His arms glide through the water with sure movements as he moves up toward the stairs up, although he sits there for now and doesn't leave. If Strange looks he can observe there is a wheelchair standing right by where he might have to lift himself out eventually.
"I can't help but observe your clothing is Regency era. The 1800s?"
