It's not going to happen overnight, and you can't do anything about it right now. Some things take time. Logan gave you a chance and he is a far less forgiving person than most.

[ Logan also got in the way of the conflict so he was thinking about the big picture during it. It doesn't mean that Logan will ever like and trust Erik either, but the purpose is to aim for tolerance. And then perhaps after some tolerance, it could lead further. That's how Charles sees it. Neither of them are going to force Erik on anyone, nor will he for Raven either, but he does have faith. ]

They don't know you, my friend. They know the worst of you, yes, but not the best, and there is a best.

[ Charles doesn't have to be inside Erik's mind to know how bright he shines. He can't show other people that though, so it's a difficult process to try and translate such brilliance into normal terms. The best way to do that is for Erik to lean toward his lighter self until it takes. ]

I know it hurts because you two were getting along and finding positive connections is already hard for you.

[ Erik came here uncertain if he could bond with others, having planned on isolating himself, and then he meets someone he decides to stay around with. Only to find out later that it was a future enemy, who turned on him right away. Understandable reasons, yes, but still. It would be upsetting for anyone, but he is already straining to reach out to others. Charles can be a difficult person but he is ultimately an extrovert who genuinely likes people and enjoys interacting with strangers. He has an easier time than most, especially more than Erik, but he sympathizes. ]

I'm sorry that it turned out this way.
